No Third Season?....That's Crap Son...

Since many of the cartoons on the adult swim are parodies of TV genres, and many being parodies of themselves, its a wonder why Assy Mcgee was holy unaccepted by the public, and by public I mean the drug induced 18-28 year old mostly male demographic. Apparently there are few people that find the late 80's action movie a sacred piece of American film, and genre that epitomized where America as a culture was headed. Personal archtypes themselves, heroes on the right side of the law (one way or another), played by Kurt Russell - Escape From New York, Seagal - Above The Law, Van Damme - Death Warrant, Willis - The Last Boy Scout, Schwarzenegger - Commando, and last but not least, Stallone in Cobra, for a strong 10+ years fueled the action movie into a beast that would get so large it's only recourse was to consume itself. And there lies the humor. It took me two episodes to love Assy Mcgee, the first to comprehend just what I was watching, and the other to start laughing. It does take time to get into TV shows, and maybe the majority just didn't get a walking, talking ass police detective loner with a bad temper, hair trigger, and drinking problem. I thought a way-over-the-top cartoon about the way-over-the-top (and finality of the) genre couldn't have been stated better.
